How this was calculated
What is Website Status Checker?
Website Status Checker tells you whether a site is reachable from the internet. It requests the address from our server and reports the HTTP status code, response time, server type and any redirects. If the site is up here but not on your device, the problem is likely your network, DNS or browser.
When a site will not load, it is hard to tell whether the problem is the website or your connection. This checker requests the address from our server, which is on a different network, so a working result here usually means the problem is local: your Wi-Fi, mobile data, DNS or browser cache.
How to use Website Status Checker
- Enter a website address such as example.com.
- Press Check status.
- Read the result: UP or DOWN, the HTTP code and response time.
- Open the details to see redirects and the final address.
Key features
- HTTP status code with plain-language reason
- Response time in milliseconds
- Full redirect chain (up to 5 hops)
- HTTPS check and server header
- Clear DNS and timeout errors
Why use this website status checker
- Tells you if a site is down for everyone
- Shows HTTP status, response time and redirects
- Useful for site owners after DNS or SSL changes

How it works
The server requests the address (HEAD, falling back to GET), follows up to 5 redirects and times the response.

Important notes before you rely on the result
- Generators and encoders run in your browser. The IP and website status tools need our server, and say so on their page.
- Test generated QR codes, links and tags before printing or publishing them.
Limits and supported formats
- Public websites only: private, local and reserved network addresses are refused for security.
- Up to 12 checks per minute from one connection.
- A site can block automated checks and show 403 here while working in a browser.
Privacy and data handling
The address you enter is checked from our server. It is not saved; nothing else is sent. Only the address you enter is sent to our server to make the check; it is not stored.
Website Status Checker: frequently asked questions
The site is UP here but will not open for me. Why?
