Calculators

Everyday calculators with the formula shown for every result: percentages and percentage change, averages, fractions, exact age, days between dates, adding days to a date, BMI and BMR.

Quick maths, explained

Percentage questions come in three forms: “what is X% of Y” (Percentage Calculator), “by what percent did it change” (Percentage Change) and “what was the price before the increase” (Reverse Percentage). Choosing the right one avoids the most common mistakes.

Date tools count exact calendar days, months and years: your age for a form, the days between two dates for a notice period, or the date that falls a number of days after another. BMI and BMR give quick adult health estimates, and every calculator shows its formula.

Quick tips

  • A 20% rise followed by a 20% fall does not return to the start; it ends 4% lower.
  • Use the date calculators’ exact months and days for applications that ask for age “as on” a date.

Calculators: common questions

How is age calculated as on a specific date?

Choose your birth date and the “as on” date. The result counts completed years, then completed months, then remaining days, the same way most forms and exams define age.
