How this was calculated
What is Split PDF?
Split PDF takes one document apart. Extract only the pages you need into a new PDF, save every page as a separate file, or cut a long document into equal parts such as 10 pages each. It is useful for sending one page of a statement, separating chapters, or meeting an upload-size limit, and it runs entirely on your device.
Splitting is the quickest way to share only the pages someone needs, such as one page of a bank statement or the signed page of an agreement, without sending the whole document. You can also break a long scan into smaller files when a portal limits the upload size.
How to use Split PDF
- Choose the PDF you want to split.
- Pick how to split: extract selected pages, every page separately, or equal parts.
- For extraction, type the pages, for example 1-3, 5, 8- (8- means page 8 to the end). For equal parts, enter the pages per part.
- Press Split PDF and download the new PDF, or a ZIP when there are several files.
Key features
- Page ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-
- Every page as its own PDF, packed in one ZIP
- Equal parts of any number of pages
- Original page quality is kept
- Files are named with their page numbers
Why use this split pdf
- Share only the pages that matter
- Meet upload-size limits without compression

- No upload, so private documents stay private
How it works
Selected page numbers are copied into new documents; multiple outputs are packed into a ZIP.

- PDFs are processed in your browser tab with open-source libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js) and are never uploaded.
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened; remove the password in your PDF reader first.
- Keep your original file. Large PDFs need free memory; on older phones work with smaller files or fewer pages at a time.
Limits and supported formats
- Input: one PDF up to 150 MB. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
- Up to 500 output files per run.
- Several output files are delivered as one ZIP; open it with your phone’s Files app or any unzip tool.
Privacy and data handling
Processed on your device. Your files are never uploaded to a server. Splitting happens in your browser tab; nothing is sent to a server.
Split PDF: frequently asked questions
How do I write page ranges?
Separate items with commas. 1-3 means pages 1, 2 and 3; 5 means page 5; 8- means page 8 to the last page. Pages are kept in the order you type them, without duplicates.
Why do I get a ZIP file?
Browsers download one file at a time, so several PDFs are packed together. Every phone and computer can open ZIP files.
Can I delete pages with this tool?
Yes. Extract the pages you want to keep, for example 1-4, 6- to remove page 5.
