Attendance Percentage Calculator
Find your attendance percentage and see how many classes you can miss, or must attend in a row, to stay at your required attendance such as the 75% rule.
What is the Attendance Percentage Calculator?
An attendance percentage calculator tells you what share of your classes you have actually attended. Enter the number of classes you attended, the number held so far and your required attendance (75% by default), and it returns your attendance as a percentage. It then tells you how many upcoming classes you can miss and still stay at the requirement, or how many classes in a row you must attend to reach it.
Students use it to track attendance through the semester and plan leave, while teachers and class representatives can use it to check records quickly. Both counts must be whole numbers, and attended classes cannot exceed classes held. The required percentage can be changed to match your institution, such as 75%, 80% or 85%. The tool does not apply any medical-leave or condonation rules your institution may have.
How to use the Attendance Percentage Calculator
- Enter the number of classes you were present for in the Classes attended field, for example 52.
- Enter the total number of classes conducted so far in Classes held, such as 70. Leave out cancelled classes.
- Check Required attendance (%), which is 75 by default, and change it if your college sets a different minimum, such as 80.
- Press Calculate to see your attendance percentage, with a note saying how many classes you can miss or must attend in a row to reach the requirement.
- Copy the result, or press Reset to check another subject.

Attendance = attended / held × 100%.
Examples
Exactly at the 75% limit
Input: Classes attended 18, Classes held 24, Required attendance 75%
Result: 75% 18 of 24 classes attended. You are at the 75% limit: missing the next class takes you below it.
Slightly below 75%
Input: Classes attended 52, Classes held 70, Required attendance 75%
Result: 74.2857% 52 of 70 classes attended. Attend the next 2 classes in a row to reach 75%. About 74.29%; two more classes in a row bring you to 54 of 72, exactly 75%.
Comfortably above the minimum
Input: Classes attended 45, Classes held 50, Required attendance 75%
Result: 90% 45 of 50 classes attended. You can miss the next 10 classes and stay at or above 75%. Missing 10 classes would make it 45 of 60, still exactly 75%.

Attendance Percentage Calculator: frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my attendance percentage?
Divide the number of classes you attended by the number of classes held, then multiply by 100. For 52 classes attended out of 70, that is 52 ÷ 70 × 100, or about 74.29%. Enter the two counts in this calculator and it shows the result immediately, so you can compare it with your college's minimum.
Is 75% attendance compulsory?
Many Indian universities and colleges require at least 75% attendance to sit for semester or board exams, but the exact rule depends on your institution and regulator. Some allow condonation for medical or other approved reasons, and some set different limits for practicals. Check your college handbook or notice board and enter that figure in Required attendance (%); the tool only does the arithmetic and does not apply any institution's condonation rules.
How many classes can I miss and still stay above 75%?
The calculator tells you directly. With Required attendance (%) set to 75, 45 of 50 classes gives 90% and the note 'You can miss the next 10 classes and stay at or above 75%.' If you are below the target, it says how many classes in a row you must attend instead, for example 52 of 70 needs the next 2 classes. At exactly 18 of 24 you are at the 75% limit, so missing the next class takes you below it.
Should I count cancelled or holiday classes?
No. Only count classes that were actually conducted. Cancelled lectures, holidays and classes that never happened should be left out of Classes held, otherwise your percentage will look lower than it really is. If your college counts extra or makeup classes, include them in both fields as applicable.
Why does the calculator reject my numbers?
Both class counts must be whole numbers, classes held must be at least 1, and classes attended cannot be negative or more than classes held. Required attendance (%) must be between 1 and 99.99. Decimal class counts like 10.5, blank fields or text such as 'twenty' show a plain message naming the field to fix. Correct the numbers and press Calculate again.
