FAQ
Answers to the questions we hear most about Toolnest. Each tool page also has its own questions and answers.
Is Toolnest free to use?
Yes. Every tool is free, with no sign-up, no account, and no usage limit. The site is supported by advertising, which never blocks or slows down a tool.
Are my files and text uploaded anywhere?
No. Calculations, text tools, and image tools run inside your own browser using JavaScript. Images you choose are read locally and the processed file is created on your device, so nothing you enter is sent to our server.
Do the tools work on mobile phones?
Yes. Every page adapts to small screens, buttons are large enough to tap, and image tools work with your phone’s photo library or camera roll. A recent version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, or Samsung Internet is recommended.
How accurate are the calculators?
Each calculator uses the standard published formula, shown on its page with a worked example, and validates inputs to avoid silent mistakes. Results are estimates for planning: banks, schools, and government offices may apply their own rounding, fees, or rules, so confirm important figures with them.
Why does a tool show an error message?
Tools check your input before calculating. An error appears when a value is missing, outside the supported range, or in the wrong format, such as text in a number field or an unsupported image type. The message explains what to change.
Can I use the results for commercial work?
Yes. Text, code, images, and numbers you produce with the tools are yours to use. Please check generated output, such as robots.txt rules or meta tags, before publishing it on a live website.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Samsung Internet. Very old browsers may not support the image encoders or secure random numbers some tools rely on; the tool tells you when a feature is unavailable.
How can I suggest a new tool or report a problem?
Use the Contact page. Tell us which tool you used, what you entered, and what you expected to see, and we will look into it. Suggestions for new tools are always welcome.
